Students' Association
The Students’ Association is here to provide support to every student in the college in one way or another. We organise social & leisure events and activities, as well as welfare & support services. A large part of our role is to develop, promote and support Student Representation within the college. As a student your involvement is fundamental and there are many ways you can become part of the Students’ Association.

Representation
Dundee College listens to it’s students and take your views and input seriously. We have a Representational Structure which together with the support of the college and it’s staff, means that students have a way of expressing their opinions and ideas at all levels across the college. The most important person who represents your views and opinions in the college is YOU, the student! Dundee College is keen that you as students have as much say as possible on how we do things here. We have a number of ways that you can represent your views on your programme and college services. You can become a:
Class Rep
This is an important role and it involves you representing the views of your class mates at things like Programme Team meetings which take place twice yearly.
Lead Rep
This is a new role this year and we want to recruit around 30-40 students to take on this role. They will work with the Class Reps and ensure that feedback from each class is recorded and discussed where appropriate, with the Students’ Association. We want your views to produce positive actions and these reps will take common issues that may affect a number of classes and represent them to the Students’ Association.
Committee Rep
This role gives you the opportunity to become a member of one of the College’s Standing Committees – for example Customer Care, Environment, Health & Safety to name a few. You will work with the Lead Reps and ensure the feedback is recorded at the Student Executive Forum and reported to the committees for action. You will be involved in committee decisions and represent student views and interests across the college.
Student Executive Forum
The Student Executive forum consists of the Committee Representatives who sit on the College Standing Committees and the Student President. Other students can also be co-opted onto the SEF as deemed appropriate. This committee works with the Student Liaison Officer to ensure the smooth running of Association activities and events and is responsible for the creation of the Operational Plan and ensuring the Association meets it’s objectives. The SEF also meet regularly to discuss matters arising from the College Standing Committees and other aspects of the student voice. The SEF also work with the Student Events Co-ordinator to organise, support and promote Association events and activities.
NOTE - Detailed information regarding these posts is circulated to all students at the start of term. This also include, committee remits, nomination forms and election instructions. Further information can also be found on the Students’ Association Blackboard page.
