Borrowing from the Libraries
Each library holds different types of media (such as DVDs, videos, journals etc) which means they may have different loan periods. See below for all of the different borrowing periods you may come across.
Overdue items are charged at 10p per item per day to a maximum fine of £2.00.
Loan Details
| Loan |
Loan Period |
Description |
| General |
4 weeks |
Most of the resources in the libraries will have this loan period. |
| Weekly |
7 days |
7 day loans are applied to resources that are used more frequently than others. There may also be multiple copies of these items. |
| Short |
3 days |
This loan generally applies to videos. However, students cannot take videos out of college. We provide viewing facilities in all libraries and learning centres. Please see your campus staff for details. |
| Tied |

Your tutors set aside these items and they cannot be removed from the library. This is so there is always a copy available to use for study when all other copies are out on loan. |
| Reference |
0 days |
Reference items are set aside by library staff and include encyclopaedia, statistics and dictionaries. Again, this is so they are always available. |
