Dundee College art student Michala Schonewald, of Kirriemuir, has had one of her works exhibited on both sides of the Atlantic simultaneously.

The 23-year-old student included the work “Not all Differences Can be Seen” in the BA design and creativity show held at The Space,

As part of her course however, the degree student submitted the same work for a charity competition called Embracing our Differences in Florida.

Michala’s was one of only 37 pieces chosen to be displayed – from over 3000 entries.

“I think my piece was chosen as a lot of people when faced with the issue of diversity tend to focus on race or religion, I chose to highlight diabetes as my boyfriend, Joe, has had the condition since childhood,” said the student.

The former Webster’s HS pupil saw her piece duplicated and sent across the Atlantic.
