Skills for Scotland

April 2008 - March 2011

Skills for Scotland is a project designed to improve the skills of the Scottish workforce to enhance employability, productivity, adaptability, inclusion and entrepreneurial expertise.

The Scottish Government believes that people are Scotland’s greatest asset and as a result want to build a self confident outward looking Scotland creating an ambitious nation with opportunities for all.

The main focus of the project at Dundee College is to enhance the soft skills of managers and operational staff working in small to medium sized enterprises to enable them to be more confident and productive in the workplace. A series of workshops have been designed to enable the participants to develop skills in self awareness, reflection, task management, effective communication and team working.

All participants have the opportunity to work towards achieving a Professional Development Award in Personal Development at SCQF Level 6 for Managers and SCQF level 3 for Operational staff.

A blended learning approach is being developed to give new learners the opportunity to study at a place of their choosing. Dundee College will support 388 participants in learning through this project.
