The aim of this project is to increase the number of successful, sustainable and growing enterprises in Dundee through developing the potential of Dundee College to (a) engage Groups / Communities underrepresented in Enterprise and to support an increased number of College learners into Enterprise (b) make expertise in the College available to SMEs through knowledge transfer services.
The key objectives are to:
- promote enterprise to College students and through outreach work to disadvantaged groups/communities.
- increase enterprise skills within the curriculum
- provide hot desks/access to workshops/facilities plus advisory services to enable clients to prepare an idea for enterprise
- support business planning for potential entrepreneurs through Business Gateway Think Plan Do workshop sessions delivered at the college
- provide Start up Services to support the creation of sustainable businesses. These services will include mentoring, access to facilities (including hot desks & incubation pods), expertise in areas including IT, ecommerce, setting up a web site, organising exhibitions, marketing, design prototyping & over the range of vocational areas.
- support existing SMEs to identify opportunities for knowledge transfer, improve business processes & identify a mentor/advisor to support participating SMEs
