UKBA Regulation

Dundee College is a Highly Trusted Sponsor approved by the United Kingdom Border Agency (UKBA).  This is the agency which regulates the admission of all international visitors to the UK.  See their website www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk  for further information.   There is also a short video explaining the visa application process on Youtube.com

As part of our agreement with UKBA, Dundee College has certain responsibilities and obligations.
Firstly, we are authorised to issue Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies statements (CAS) which is required as part of the visa application process.  When you have paid your deposit, given evidence of sufficient English language ability and complied with any other conditions specific to the course you wish to study, you will be given an unconditional offer provided that a place is available.  At the same time, we will issue a CAS.

Once we have issued the CAS, we are obliged to track your arrival in the UK and report on any issues.  In particular we must report:

  • Non-arrival or non-enrolment at the college
  • Unauthorised absence from class
  • Non-payment of full fees payable within the required period
  • Withdrawal from College

It is therefore essential that you understand that the CAS has been issued to you for study at Dundee College.  You are not therefore allowed to make any changes to your status which might affect your visa.  If you do so, we will be obliged to report you, and this will affect your status in the UK.
