Application Process
All students must apply online. It is important to fill in the ‘further information’ section in your application form in order for us to assess your application. The more you put on your personal statement the easier it is for us to make a decision on your application.
Once the application is submitted, you will receive an auto response requesting a copy of your certificates and passport (including the visa page and biometric card if you already have a visa). For certain courses, we request a criminal record check or a portfolio of art work. Also for Dance and Acting & Performance, a DVD is requested when a student cannot attend an audition.
Please email copies of your academic certificates, IELTS, and the information pages of your passport to International Enquiries.
These documents are required for a decision to be made. If an offer is made to you it will be conditional upon the receipt of a £6,000 full fee, copy of bank statement and the appropriate level of qualifications to meet individual course requirements.
We require an IELTs score of 5.5 minimum (which is CEFR B2 in all 4 categories) to start an HNC and HND course. An IELTs score of 4.5 minimum (which is CEFR B1 in all 4 categories) is required to start on English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) course.
Offer of a Place
Once the conditions are met you will be issued with an Unconditional offer by email. You must check your email regularly. You have to accept this offer as well as request accommodation if necessary. If you do not accept the offer within 28 days the offer will be cancelled and offered to someone else.
Applying for a Visa
If you require a visa to study in the UK a Confirmation of Acceptance of Studies (CAS) number and statement will be issued after you received an unconditional offer. This gives you a unique number from UKBA allowing an application for a visa to study at Dundee College only.
You must put your previous education history in the application form if you previously studied with another institution in the UK. You need to tell us this information in order to obtain a CAS statement. A CAS statement will only be issued to you where you can show progression in your studies.
You will be required to provide a copy of your bank statement to the College before we issue your CAS. The international team will check the date and the remaining balance on the statement is correct and it can be used in the visa application. You are responsible for making the application for a visa and meeting the financial evidence required by the UKBA.
Once you have been issued with a visa, you should advise Dundee College of your success or otherwise and also your arrival date in the UK. It is essential we know your arrival date in the UK and arrival date in Dundee.
