About Dundee
Dundee is a 21st Century city, following major regeneration work transforming it almost beyond recognition. Situated at the mouth of the Tay, Dundee was once renowned for the 3 "J's" - jute, jam and journalism. Now Dundee is known for biotechnology, information technology and research.
Dundee may be an historic city, but it is young at heart. With two universities and Dundee College over 10% of the city's population of almost 150,000 are students! A recent survey named Dundee as one of the top 3 medium sized cities in Britain.
A recently announced £1million project, Dundee Medipark, will occupy a prime 25 acre site on the western edge of the city. The location borders the flagship Dundee Technology Park and the internationally renowned Ninewells Hospital and Medical School. This complements other multi-million pound investments in the arts, science and retail that are currently underway.
Dundee is easy to get to, being a major hub on national bus and rail routes. The city is within easy reach of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Perth and provides an ideal base from which to explore the highlands. Dundee also has a city centre airport with regular flights connecting to London City Airport and Manchester.
