Training for Work Initiative

Training for Work provides training for people who are 25 years and over, unemployed for at least 6 months and actively looking for work. Run by Scottish Enterprise, it allows people to go on company placements and receive formal training. Trainees often move into full-time employment.

Our Training for Work opportunities are backed by local employers and include Contact Centre training, Healthcare training and Bus Driver training. Participants will be paid a “training allowance” – equivalent to their benefits plus £10 per week. If a trainee secures employment out of the Training for Work scheme, then they will paid the rate for that job.
