Vocational Training
Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQs) and Modern Apprenticeships (MAs) are programmes which provide vocational training to nationally recognised standards for people who have left full-time education and are in employment. The College can also help school leavers seeking their first experience of working life to access a range of training opportunities either in employment or on work placement.
You can learn as you earn, in the workplace, with SVQs and MAs.
SVQs are available at various levels, depending on the skill level and job role of the applicant
MAs are designed for people in employment capable of achieving an SVQ at an appropriate level between levels 2 – 5.
For those not in employment, the College can assist in placing applicants with an employer to gain job-related skills which may lead to employment either with the same or another organisation. Working with a local company can provide practical experience; help trainees gain confidence; and help guide trainees to the right career path.
