Course Dates
The total course lasts four weeks from 6 July - 31 July 2009
The minimum enrolment period is two weeks, with start dates on 6, 13 or 20 July 2009.
The Course
The emphasis of the course is on improving communicative skills and fluency, using the expertise and resources of native-speaker teachers. There is also grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation work and some reading and writing skills development. There are no exams, but each student is required to do a short project. There are classes from beginner to advanced level (depending on demand), with a minimum class size of 6 and a maximum of 15.
Course Hours
18 hours of classes plus 12 hours of visits per week.
Course Fees
£195 per week at 2008 prices, although 2009 prices are yet to be confirmed.
Notes
- Accommodation is paid separately, directly to the host family
- Lunches are provided at reasonable prices
Accommodation
- Homestay with meals is accommodation in a private home where the meals are provided (breakfast and evening meal). Bedrooms are single or shared. The cost is £90 - 95 per week. Vacancies in this type of accommodation are limited.
- Self Catering Homestay is accommodation in a private home or hostel-type accommodation, where you organise your meals yourself. Bedrooms are single or shared. The fee is £65 - 70 per week.
- Accommodation for couples can be arranged, if booked early.
Note: For insurance and safety reasons the College cannot arrange accommodation for individual students under 18.
