Top Award for Dundee College
Staff at Dundee College are celebrating the news that the college won the College of the Year Award at the Business to College Awards, plus top spot in four categories.
At a packed ceremony in Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh, last night (Wednesday, March 24), Dundee College staff discovered they had scooped first place in four of the awards categories: the Impact Award for work done with PrintMatters of Brechin; the Business Start-Up Award with Discovery Packaging & Design; a long-term partnership with McGills earned top place for the Sustained Relationship Award; and the Workforce Development (more than 50 employees) Award after being nominated by Servite Housing.
Then there was sheer delight when the final prize of the evening was announced – and Dundee College was named College of the Year.
“We are overjoyed to win five awards,” declared Veronica Lynch, head of external relations.
“We feel that achieving this recognition demonstrates the quality of relationship we have with our business customers and helps showcase how Dundee College can help businesses achieve positive economic impact.
“I can’t stress highly enough that it was businesses who nominated the college for these awards.
“And winning in both the start-up category and the sustained relationship class indicates that our business partners, whether brand new or long-term, can gain significant results from working with Dundee College.”
The Business to College Awards is a joint partnership between Scotland’s Colleges and The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and all the nominations were supported by the business community itself.
The awards are unique in that they are from businesses to colleges and have been designed to recognise the many ways in which colleges support business sustainability.
