Free Soft Skills Training for Non-Managerial Staff
Through a European Social Funded (ESF) project called Skills for Scotland, Dundee College is offering private sector businesses in Tayside the opportunity to develop their operational staff* and their business FREE OF CHARGE.
The Skills for Scotland initiative focuses on personal development through practical, interactive work based activities and reflective practice. Participants will be provided with the opportunity to identify and build on existing skills and qualities and compile a reflective log that records their own learning journey and details the personal distance travelled.
One of the benefits of the programme is that it allows each participant to evaluate and review their own soft skills, and subsequently, identify the ones they feel they would like to develop further. The development of these identified soft skills is done via a project at work which commences after the course. Each participant identifies skills that will help to develop their self awareness, interpersonal and task management skills. The tutor continues to offer support and help them to set personal targets and support throughout the project via email or face to face if required.
Successful candidates will be entered for a nationally recognised award and at the end of the course encouraged to continue with their learning by achieving goals which will be documented on their own individual Personal Learning Plan (PLP). The course is tutor led and is delivered over 4 days. There will be no tests or exams; the course will be assessed on a formative basis.
