Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Workshops
Dundee College now offers one day workshops to allow staff and organizations to explore their own personality and that of their colleagues. These workshops will explore how understanding more about yourself and others can help greatly in the workplace. Based around the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) the workshop will also investigate the answers given on your completed MBTI questionnaires. No previous MBTI knowledge is required.
Business Benefits
Can include improved communication, increased productivity, greater efficiency, reductions in waste and the freeing up of management time all assisted by staff analyzing their personality outputs.
What?
The personality questionnaire provides a highly insightful framework for individual and group development, provoking self-awareness by looking at how a person perceives the world and how they prefer to interact with others.
How?
The MBTI instrument sorts individuals into psychological 'types' so that they can identify how they are similar to some people and different to others, and how they can improve their working and personal relationships in a positive and constructive way.
Workshops
A questionnaire will be posted to you in advance with the results analysed at the workshop. The questionnaire results become far more useful and powerful when they are examined both individually and in relation to other character types. The workshop involves interactive exercises and activities designed to help the participant become more familiar with their own personality type, and with the positive characteristics and strengths associated with it and that of others. After the workshop you will receive an individual report on the key characteristics of your personality type.
The Outputs
Below are just some of the areas that MBTI can be used to help with:
- Identify your preferred management/leadership or learning style (and its strengths & weaknesses)
- Help you to develop an insight into the personality types of others to enhance relationships & interactions
- Let you see how you can use differences between people in a constructive, positive way
- Increase your understanding of what can make teams work well & develop effective group dynamics
- Be better able to maximise the strengths of each individual in your own team/workforce
- Increase your awareness of others, their needs at work and create a more conducive work culture
- You will also learn to identify your own (and others) areas for professional/personal development
